ALBUM OF THE WEEK: EERA

ALBUM OF THE WEEK: EERA

Someone suggested we have a listen to ‘Reflection of Youth’ and now we are passing on the tip. Eera has been building up the foundations of her sound within the walls of London, and from that she has now released her debut album. ‘Reflection of Youth’centres itself around moments of identity re-evaluation, it pivots on idea of this constant cultural mirror that is held up over you as you question and develop your own individualism.

Eera sonically contrasts striking guitar melodies with the visceral beauty of her voice which is sometimes clear and at other times muffled. ‘Reflection of Youth’ has a definite theme, but the music is in no way defined by it. I found the album to be continuously evolving and if you are a fan of the likes of Angel Olsen, PJ Harvey and downbeat pop then Eera is recommended for you.
